All Silver Ships vessels are built to American Boat & Yacht Council (ABYC) Standards and can also be built to U.S. Coast Guard Regulations for Inspected Vessels if needed. Why do these standards matter?

According to the ABYC, their standards are the core of the organization and are continuously researched, developed and revised by more than 400 volunteer marine professionals, including members of the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG), trade organizations and private companies. Though the list is long, each standard plays an important role in assuring vessels built by the standards are fully functional and safe for the crews operating them.

In addition to building to ABYC Standards, Silver Ships’ entire build process operates in such a way that ensures safety and durability is top of mind for each vessel. Each all-aluminum boat’s hull is designed to meet the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) rules for high-speed naval crafts, and all underwater seams are continuously welded inside and outside. Additionally, the entire build process takes place on Silver Ships’ 85,000-square-foot facility in Theodore, Ala., from initial designs to construction all the way through in-water testing. Thorough quality testing is conducted throughout the build process and during builder seatrials near the facility in Mobile Bay and the Gulf of Mexico.

Silver Ships can customize any vessel up to 65 feet in length to best meet its mission goals. Each of our boat series, Ambar, Explorer, Endeavor and Freedom , are designed and constructed with the ultimate safety, stability and durability in mind. Though our hulls and overall designs vary, following ABYC and ABS standards help ensure our vessels perform reliably in challenging conditions.
