Looking Back on a Successful Year at Silver Ships

In 2021, more than 30 vessels were either in production or delivered for law enforcement and emergency services for municipalities, local fire districts, counties and state agencies.

Ambar 800 Vessel, Huntington Beach, Selected as Top Workboats of 2021 Category Winner by Marine News

The Ambar 800, Huntington Beach, has been named a top workboat of 2021 by Marine News. The magazine recently highlighted the vessels unique design, and the specific safety features. Additionally, this workboat assisted in saving the lives of two mariners clinging to their submerged vessel 17 miles off the coast. This award is an honor, and Silver Ships is eager to continue creating these custom marine assist vessels.

The 30-foot AM800 vessel is custom designed and outfitted for use as an offshore marine assist and tow vessel supporting operations at Tow Boat U.S. Long Beach and is equipped for extreme, extended offshore conditions. This is the second boat delivered to this customer. It is built with underwater seams that are continuously welded inside and outside and using 5086 H32 grade aluminum plates, with each bottom plate being a minimum ¼-inch thick.

In 2021, Silver Ships Won a Multi-Million Dollar Military Contract

In 2021, Silver Ships was awarded an $8.2 million Delivery Order as a result of being awarded a Firm-Fixed-Price Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) single award contract (N00024-21-D-2205) by the Naval Sea Systems Command for the construction and delivery of up to 110 Naval Special Warfare (NSW) Surface Support Craft (SSC) and U.S. Coast Guard Special Purpose Craft, Law Enforcement (SPC-LE) vessels, in addition to other accessories, parts and training.

In November, 2021, Silver Ships was named Mobile Area Chamber of Commerce Small Business of the Year

“It is an exciting time in the marine industry and for our company, as we continue to build high quality aluminum workboats for customers across the United States and internationally. We appreciate the opportunity to celebrate our accomplishments, employees, customers, vendors and Mobile-area roots.”
