AM800 Delivered to Michigan Department of Natural Resources

Silver Ships recently delivered a multi-mission Ambar RHIB to the Michigan Department of Natural Resources. The Michigan Department of Natural Resources maintains natural resources including state parks, state forests and recreation areas. The new vessel will be named Emil Skoglund in honor of a fallen Michigan DNR officer killed in the line of duty. The Emil Skoglund’s mission is law enforcement patrol on the Great Lakes.

The AM800 is powered by dual 350 HP Mercury Verado Outboard motors, allowing it to respond quickly to emergencies on the water. The vessel includes upgraded Mercury JPO joystick control steering for increased maneuverability in close quarters and docking. The 29-foot vessel features extra seating and storage and swim ladder for crew. For maximum comfort, the vessel offers shock-mitigating seating in the climate-controlled walk around cabin.

To best equip the vessel for its mission, it includes dual RayMarine Axiom Pro 12 screens integrated with RealVision 3D that provide increased search and rescue capabilities in addition to navigation on the Great Lakes. It also includes GPS, Navionics charting, CHIRP radar, and a RayMarine RV-100 transducer. A FLIR thermal imaging camera further increases the vessel’s search and rescue capabilities, even at night and in low visibility situations.
