Fire Boat Delivered to the Detroit Fire Department

Silver Ships recently delivered a custom fireboat to the Detroit Fire Department in Detroit, Michigan. The 32-foot boat has a modified “V” style hull with a 16-degree deadrise at the transom to maximize maneuverability.

The vessel is powered by twin Mercury Four Stroke motors, totaling 350HP. To best equip the vessel for its fire rescue mission, a Darley LSDE1000 fire pump delivers 1000 GPM @150 psi and it also uses an Elkhart Brass Copperhead 8593-0X manual fire monitor. Two clear opening dive doors are mounted on each side of the vessel, and a fully enclosed pilothouse protects operators from the elements and allows for the crew to be comfortable on the water for long periods of time if needed.

Additionally, the vessel features an Equipment Leakage Circuit Interrupter to protect persons in the water next to the vessel from electric shock; a ¼” hull plate with beaching plate doubler for icy water protection; 3” Duramax strips mounted diagonally on each side of the boat for additional protection; and other necessary technology and features to fit the crew’s mission needs.

We’re proud to deliver high-quality vessels to fire departments across the U.S., including Detroit Fire Department. For more information about Silver Ships fire rescue vessels, contact our team.
