Silver Ships recently delivered a custom Freedom series vessel to the Tampa Police Department Marine Unit. This vessel will allow the police department to patrol and navigate the waters near Tampa and will ensure safety and provide assurance to the citizens while they are on the water.  

The patrol boat is approximately 27 feet long and has a deep “V” style hull. Silver Ships included mission-specific features that will help the Tampa Police Department perform in their sunny and salty Florida environment including: two Yamaha four-stroke stainless steel engines from the Yamaha Salt Water Series II; UV Protection; and anti-fouling paint. 

To best equip the police department’s navigation needs for missions, the vessel includes an HD radar dome, GPS antenna, and preloaded HD maps and Blue Charts. Additionally, the boat features a heavy-duty dive ladder and a bow anchor locker with a Danforth style anchor. 

Our team is excited to see how this vessel will help the men and women of the Tampa Police Department Marine Unit, and we look forward to continuing building boats that help communities stay safe on the water.
