Silver Ships Delivers Latest 11-Meter AM1100 Naval Special Warfare – Surface Support Craft

Part of the Rigid Hull Inflatable Boat (RHIB) family, the Ambar Series of vessels were originally designed to meet the demands of the North Sea as rescue boats. Silver Ships was the first boat builder in the U.S. to produce RHIBs, and our Ambar Series of boats have been used in many applications, including military and patrol service.

Silver Ships has been building the AM1100 11-Meter Naval Special Warfare – Surface Support Craft (SSC) RHIB for the past seven years. There are three variants of the vessel; the most recent delivery is the Open Center Console version. The U.S. Navy uses these vessels for training and support of swim and dive operations, among other missions.

We have 36 years of boatbuilding corporate knowledge, and the AM1100 NSW SSC is one of four current multi-vessel and multi-year contracts with the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) for the manufacture and delivery of military workboats. In addition, our military veteran project management team has broad experience working with the military and other government agency personnel. Our production history and seasoned project management team give us an advantage when it comes to building marine vessels for the many types of training and operational scenarios these forces will face on the water.
