Fitter/Welder
Our fitters/welders work within a team of pipe fitters and welders to achieve maximum production in minimum time. They ensure that standards and quality are kept in line with company policies, while maintaining a positive and motivated team environment.
Job Requirements
• First Class/Class A.
• Able to read and interpret basic drawings and weld symbols
• Pass weld tests 36 & 46 and Mig tests 5086 & 6061
• Ability to work to Silver Ships Tig Welding standards
• Ability to work to Silver Ships housekeeping procedure
• Follows Silver Ships guidelines and procedures
• 1 year minimum work experience as aluminum welder required, 2 years of experience in similar role at comparative employer preferred
• Must have the ability to bend, squat, stoop, crawl and kneel
• Perform prolonged standing
• Ability to turn head from side to side and about the vertical axis
• Lift/push/pull 50 lbs. on an occasional basis
• Lift/push/pull up to 20 lbs. on a frequent basis
• Ability to utilize personal protective equipment (hard hat, safety glasses, steel-toe shoes, goggles, respirator, safety harness, safety line, flotation gear, etc.) safely per OSHA standards
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
