Silver Ships Reflects on U.S. Military Partnerships During Military Appreciation Month
For more than 30 years, Silver Ships has designed and constructed aluminum workboats for the United States military and ally agencies around the world. Our team is committed to building high-quality vessels that can face even the most challenging military operations on the water.
In addition to consistently working with multiple branches of the U.S. military, Silver Ships is a veteran-friendly workplace with about 25% of our workforce made up of veterans representing all service branches.
Military Contracts
Silver Ships currently has four active multi-year and multi-vessel contracts:
- High Speed Maneuverable Surface Target (HSMST, AM800)
- Naval Special Warfare Surface Support Craft in three different variants (AM1100)
- 40’ Riverine Patrol Boat
- 43’ Coastal Fast Response Boat
The Riverine Patrol Boat and Coastal Fast Response Boat both support the U.S. Navy Foreign Military Sales Program. Silver Ships has built a variety of vessels under IDIQ and GSA contracts for the U.S. military over the years, and each boat is constructed to the highest military standards.
On-Time Delivery and Growing Work Capacity
Silver Ships is proud to offer stellar customer service alongside each military build. In fact, Silver Ships was on time with every delivery in 2020, despite the challenges presented by the global pandemic. Though some interruptions to the supply chain were experienced industry-wide as it relates to outfitting products, our team remained on-task and on-schedule to fulfill our customers’ needs.
Additionally, Silver Ships constantly works internally to improve operational efficiency, which has resulted in an increased capacity for overall workload, design and engineering services. Though our team moves quickly and efficiently, the quality of our vessels continue to be industry-leading. We understand each of these qualities – timeliness, capacity and reliable products – are essential for our military customers and government agencies.
Upcoming Trade Show Participation
Silver Ships plans to attend two military and law enforcement-focused trade conferences in the coming months. The first is Maritime Security East in Miami in June, and the second is the Multi Agency Craft Conference (MACC) in Baltimore in July. Both feature “Whole of Federal Government” participation from departments focused on maritime security and military workboats, such as the Departments of Defense, Homeland Security and Justice.
Though we are unable to attend the cancelled SOFIC show this year as in years past, we look forward to attending next year. Silver Ships is one of several aluminum workboat builders who regularly attend these and other conferences to showcase our latest vessels supporting military and law enforcement missions.
Our military boats are equipped to handle the most challenging of missions, and we’re proud to support the members of the U.S. military who face those missions head-on. For more information about Silver Ships’ military projects, contact our team or view recent military projects.
